 Juice of 1/2 lime

1/2 c. quartered grape tomatoes

1 (16-oz.) can refried beans

2 tbsp. taco seasoning

1/4 c. sliced black olives

2 1/2 c. guacamole

2 c. shredded lettuce

1 c. shredded Monterey jack

1/2 c. shredded cheddar

1 (16-oz.) jar chunky tomato salsa

2 1/2 c. sour cream

Corn chips, for serving

Here, we’ll give you the best way to make it.

Steps

  1. Put the refried beans at the bottom part of a dish to serve it. Make sure it’s even.
  2. If you’re going to make the guacamole from scratch, prepare this, and then, after you’re done with the layer of beans, add the guacamole.
  3. Add the layer of salsa over these two layers.
  4. Get a bowl, and stir together some of the taco seasoning, sour cream, and then the lime juice, making sur that everything is properly incorporated. Spread this over the salsa layer to make sure it’s evenly coated.
  5. Take the Monterey jack and the cheddar cheese, mixing them together, and then creating a layer of the cheese over the sour cream on top of this.
  6. Add the shredded lettuce over this. Then, add the tomatoes, and then top this with black olives.
  7. Serve this with some chips for the next fun game day experience!

Tips

When should I consume this?

This is best consumed within the next 3-4 days after making it.  You can keep it in the fridge so it’s in a container that is airtight. This is not a good recipe to have frozen.

Can I make it beforehand?

It can be! You just have to make it within 24 hours before this.  That’s because the dip is best eaten during this period. If you do make it beforehand, don’t hesitate to shove it in the fridge, and to make sure that it stays nice and chill before everyone comes over for the big game.

Can I make my own guacamole?

If you’re interested in creating a unique taste to your dish, then by all means, you can add guacamole that you’ve made yourself. Making it from scratch is reported to taste better, so it might be in your best interest to make sure that you do this, since it can impact the taste.

Do I have to use all of the ingredients listed in each of the seven layers?

For the most part, yes, if you want it to taste like the favorited game day dip that people love to make, then you should do this. If you don’t like black olives or tomatoes, you can substitute that out for more cheese, but do keep in mind that it does impact the taste.

If you don’t like a ton of guac on it, then consider substituting that out for more of the refried beans, or perhaps a bit more of the salsa and sour cream to give it a fun little taste to it, and to also make it something a bit more appetizing for people. Usually though, stick to the recipe to get good results for your dips that you decide to make.
