TURTLE CARAMEL CAKE

A delicious delight that I’ve fallen in love with, this recipe is a combination of all the perfect ingredients to yield a mouth-watering tasting delight that you and your family will love too! Chocolate chips and buttercream are the secrets to this incredible delight.

I was given the task of producing a cake for one of my good friends’ birthday, and I needed to kill it.. I searched for the perfect cake to make, and eventually settled for this. The reaction was crazy! They loved it and everyone wouldn’t stop raving about how good the cake was, and asking me to prepare a batch for them.

I now have to requests for this cake. One for a birthday and another for a baby shower, and I’m sure they’ll love it! You really need to try this. It’s one of those taste it to know it recipes, and should be on your bucket list this weekend.

Ingredients

1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 cup chopped pecans
¾ cup unsalted sweet cream butter, melted
½ cup evaporated milk
1 – 11oz caramel bits
1 box german chocolate cake mix
1 cup whole milk
3 large eggs
⅓ Cup canola oil
1 container of chocolate fudge frosting

How to prepare

Step 1:Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish with Pam baking spray. Combine the cake mix, oil, eggs, and milk in a hand mixer and beat until smooth and blended.

Step 2:Allow to bake for 15 minutes with half of the cake batter in the baking dish. Once baked, remove from oven. Combine the caramel bits, butter, and evaporated milk in a saucepan and simmer over medium heat.

Step 3:Mix the caramel mixture until it is smooth and melted. Then pour it over the prepared cake, over the caramel topping and cake, and then spread the chocolate chips and pecans.

Step 4:Place the remaining cake batter on top of the caramel mixture and bake for another 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely before using.

Step 5:Soften the chocolate fudge frosting and spread evenly once the cake has cooled. Add more chocolate chips and pecans if desired.
